Formed in 2005, Grand Canyon Rescue Episode is a collaboration of diverse musicians in Rochester, NY. They celebrate, explore, and expand on the rich traditional of Americana music, effortlessly blending original material with songs originating from across the full spectrum of American roots music. Their sets are home to everything from the compositions of musical patriarchs the likes of Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley to the modern derivative sounds of Wilco and the Drive By Truckers. Haunting ballads, soaring harmonies, foot stopping two steps, and barn burning rockers are woven together to form a canvas for the Grand Canyon Rescue Episode. The band prides itself on not being limited to genre, and use a wide array of lyrical and musical brushstrokes to accentuate and venerate the contrast of light and dark veins which run through the musical landscape that is Americana. Performing acoustic and electric, the band finds itself equally at home in coffee shops, cafes, pubs, nightclubs, dance halls, and festivals.
